Federal Age & Legal Requirements

By placing an order on our website, you swear, affirm, and certify under penalty of perjury that you meet all federal, state, and local legal requirements to purchase and possess ammunition.

Age Requirements: You must be at least 18 years old to purchase shotgun or rifle ammunition. You must be at least 21 years old to purchase handgun ammunition.
Legal Standing: You certify that you are not under indictment, have never been convicted of a felony, are not a fugitive from justice, do not unlawfully use controlled substances, and have never been adjudicated as mentally defective.

Processing Time

Orders are typically processed within 3-4 business days of being placed. Processing times may be longer during high-volume periods.

Carrier & Shipping Rules

Due to federal hazmat transportation regulations regarding small arms ammunition, the following shipping rules apply to all orders:

Ground Shipping Only: All ammunition orders are shipped strictly via UPS Ground or FedEx Ground. Expedited, air, or overnight shipping is not available.
No P.O. Boxes: We cannot ship ammunition to US Post Office Boxes (P.O. Boxes) or APO/FPO addresses.
No International Shipping: We only ship to the 48 contiguous United States. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or international destinations.
Final Sale / Returns Prohibited: Due to safety regulations and the hazard classification of explosives, all ammunition sales are final. We cannot accept returns on ammunition.

Delivery & Signature Requirements

An adult signature meeting the applicable minimum age requirement above is required upon delivery of all ammunition shipments. Packages cannot be left unattended.

State-by-State Restrictions

We comply fully with all state and local laws. If you place an order shipping to one of the following restricted locations, you'll be asked to upload the required documentation directly during checkout — your order cannot be completed without it. If you ever need to send updated or additional documentation after checkout, email it to info@olsammo.com referencing your order number. Orders with outstanding requirements will be canceled after 5 business days.

California: Ammunition must be shipped directly to a licensed Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) or a California-licensed Ammunition Vendor. We require a copy of the dealer's license on file prior to shipping. Exception: holders of a valid FFL03 and California COE may receive shipments directly, provided both documents are emailed to us.
New York: Ammunition cannot be shipped to New York City or its surrounding boroughs. For the rest of New York State, ammunition must be shipped directly to a registered FFL holder or a Registered Seller of Ammunition.
Illinois: We require a clear, valid copy of your Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID) card AND a matching state-issued ID/Driver's License. The shipping address must match the address on one of these documents.
Connecticut: We require a clear, valid copy of your Connecticut Carry Permit, Eligibility Certificate, or Ammunition Certificate, along with a matching state-issued ID.
New Jersey: We require a clear, valid copy of your Firearms Purchaser Identification Card (FPID) for all handgun ammunition purchases.
Massachusetts: We require a clear, valid copy of your License to Carry (LTC) or Firearms Identification (FID) card.
New Mexico: Ammunition must be shipped directly to a licensed Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) rather than a home address. We require a copy of the dealer's license on file prior to shipping.
Washington D.C.: We do not ship ammunition to Washington D.C.

A small number of individual cities and counties impose their own additional restrictions beyond their state's rules — including in a few states not otherwise listed above. If you're ordering from a major metro area, we may follow up to confirm local requirements before your order ships.

Shipping Costs

Shipping cost is calculated at checkout from your order's weight and shipping address, using live UPS Ground rates when available or a flat-rate estimate otherwise.
